At Table Church we believe Jesus invites us into a life that is lighter and freer than what our culture offers. The world tells us that happiness comes from adding more and doing more. But Jesus reminds us that real life is not found in possessions or in busyness. Real life is found in Him.Simplicity is not about stripping life of joy. It is about clearing away what distracts us from loving God and loving people. When we live simply as a church, we discover freedom. We become free to give with open hands and free to walk more closely with Jesus.

for generosity

When a church practices simplicity, it creates the spiritual freedom to be generous. We no longer feel the constant pull to spend our energy on ourselves. Instead we are able to turn outward in love. The early church was described as holding everything in common so that no one was in need. That kind of generosity grows out of a heart that is not chained to “more.” Simplicity reminds us that all we have belongs to God. We are caretakers of His gifts, not owners.

As we loosen our grip on wealth and possessions, our hearts are softened toward others. We find joy in giving, just as Jesus taught. A simple church becomes a generous church because its eyes are fixed on God’s kingdom and its resources are offered back to Him for His purposes.

for mission

Simplicity also creates space for us to follow Jesus more closely. When our schedules are crowded and our attention is scattered, it becomes difficult to sit quietly in His presence. But when we embrace simplicity, we make room for what matters most.

A simple church is not one that does nothing. It is a church that chooses what is essential. It is a church that values prayer, Scripture, worship, and community over constant activity. In that space, people can not just learn about Jesus, but become more like Him in community too. This is the gift of simplicity. It allows us to slow down enough to notice God’s voice. It makes us present to one another. It reminds us that our lives are centered not on what we produce but on who we are becoming in Christ.

At Table Church, our mission is to follow Jesus together through intentional discipleship, rooted in the rhythms of spiritual disciplines and lived out in authentic community. We gather around the table sharing meals, stories, and our lives where faith is formed and relationships are deepened. As a house church, we seek to be the Church in its simplest and most intimate form: loving God, loving one another, and inviting others to the table.
